A pair of custom Drape sculptures for the lobby of D’Or Condominiums at Thornhill City Centre, in collaboration with Hefele Makowka Design Associates Inc.
The brief called for a reception desk statement that would anchor the space without competing with the bold architecture. Soffi fabricated two large Drape forms in a custom colourway – black, silver mirror, and gold, with an etched gradient wave pattern that echoes the dramatic veining of the dark marble reception desk they flank. The result is a deliberate material conversation between the glass and the stone.
Soffi also supplied a selection of sculptural accessories for the lobby niches, Drape forms and complementary pieces in dark finishes that maintain the room’s palette while adding depth and variety at a smaller scale.
