For the lobby of 2 Forest Hill in Toronto, we produced 70 custom hand-blown glass vases in collaboration with art consultant Rachel Doner Turrin. The pieces are distributed across two areas of the space, arranged along the shelves of a double-height bronze grid wall that runs floor to ceiling against the building’s street-facing glazing.
The vases are blown in opal white glass with a coarse surface texture applied during the making process, the result reads as ceramic from a distance but transmits light, shifting in quality depending on the time of day and the light coming through the facade behind them. Each piece is individually formed; the collection includes variation in silhouette across bottle and vessel shapes at a consistent scale.
